From Weesen by car to Amden. From there on foot to the transmitter tower. The launch site is a small place to lay out, followed by a very steep short meadow. Caution: In Bise or on thermally good days there is usually a strong valley wind. So fly to Weesen early enough, otherwise you will get wet feet! PUBLIC TRANSPORT By bus from Post Weesen to Post Amden, then 40 minutes on foot. By car From Weesen by car to Amden. From there walk to the transmission tower. (No driving between 13:30 and 17:00 on Sundays and public holidays). Only a few parking spaces, top landing is difficult. Maschgenkamm launch site, summer only. The S-SE launch site directly below the restaurant terrace is challenging! The W-NW launch site is moderately difficult but not suitable for southwest winds. The official landing site in Walenstadt is easy to reach by paraglider along the west edge. There is no official landing site in Unterterzen. Steep meadow below the light-colored limestone slabs of the Mattstock, 1 km west of Alp Walau. From Alp Walau, follow the marked path in the direction of Ob Furgglen to the tree line. From the tree line straight up to the launch site. Altitude 1675m

Start into the Glarnerland... The "summit meadow" is extremely bumpy, steep and requires clean work. Altitude 1865m

Transport by post bus from Flums station to Tannenheim and then by cable car via a middle station to Prodkamm. Starting point west: directly at the wind mast, simply on a medium steep meadow, with a strong west wind go far enough downwards so that you are not flushed into the lee at the start. Starting point west-northwest on top of the Prodkamm summit: medium difficulty on uneven terrain, short runway to decision line Starting point north-east: below the wind mast: easy, but only with good wind conditions because the runway to the crossing hiking trail is short. Starting point north: on Boedeli below Prodkamm summit: moderately difficult on uneven terrain Special remark: At the thermals look for direction Schilstal do not lose too much altitude and then fly north from the valley, because at the valley exit a high voltage line goes across the whole valley. Transport by cable car with two possibilities: Either from Flums station by post bus to Tannenboden. Then continue by cable car to Maschgenkamm or from Unterterzen, cable car to Tannenboden and on to the machine comb. Starting direction: W-N: Difficulty: medium The starting point is a medium alpine meadow. After the start fly out in westerly direction until you have flown over the wooden bridle, then along the edge in north direction. When flying over the wooden bridle, turbulences can occur, depending on the thermal upwind. Starting direction east:Difficulty: Difficult The starting point is a steep, stony and perforated meadow below the garden restaurant. The starting process is only for experienced starters. Special remark: When looking for thermals, don't lose too much altitude towards Schilstal, and fly north out of the valley. In front at the end of the valley, a large high-voltage power line crosses the entire Schilstal valley. Landings are in Walenstadt or Flums. Depending on the starting point, there is still a 20-minute walk to be made. Dangers: Since the runways are sometimes very short, you should not start with too little wind. In summer, thermal rotors can also be built on the southwestern edge. Do not start on foehn. Game protection: no flights at the eastern take-off point from 14 May to 14 June. Fees: The take-off / landing fee of 5 Fr. per day is voluntary. In case of bad weather, the fee includes a free ride downhill with the train. If you have not paid a take-off/landing fee, you will have to pay for any downhill run. Comment: The Chaeserrugg is a challenging flying area. If the conditions are right, however, you are in one of the most beautiful areas. The view of the Saentis, the Alpstein and Lake Walen is unique. Start window: All year round Altitude 2214m

From the mountain station approx. 200m in a north-easterly direction. In breezy conditions you can soar along the entire flank of the Chäserrugg. If you are not planning a long hike, you should not soar too far down... Beautiful launch site above Lake Walen. Very thermal terrain on the south side - can also be turbulent.
