Lauterbrunnen Paragliding Sites

From Lauterbrunnen by cable car to Gruetschalp. From there 150m walk up to the end of the clearing on the right. The start is then directly under the forest. The starting place is rather small. Llinks it has trees. Mostly the wind comes up thermally along the slope. Thermike entrance after the start up to 300m left along the forest. From Kl Scheidegg 40min walk to the Lauberhorn summit (in winter Lauberhorn chairlift) The starting point is 20-50m below the summit. The terrain has slight undulations and is stony and steep. The terrain has slight hollows and waves. The start is in the direction of Jungfrau (south). Thermals: Either directly above the Girmschbuehl (Wengernalp) or on the west side of the Lauberhorn. Either from Grindelwald with the cable car to the Maennlichen or from Lauterbrunnen with the Wengernalp cable car to Wengen. Then take the cable car to the Maennlichen. From there 300m, 20min walk towards the Maennlichen summit. The starting area is fairly central between the cable car and the Maennlichen summit. You can start in two different directions. For the start towards the east (Grindelwald) practically the whole Maennlichen chain can be used. The launch site has some undulations and hollows. Light thermals at the tree line to Holenstein. Take-off towards Lauterbrunnen (west) is well suited in the flat couloir with a weak westerly wind. In the afternoon, however, there is strong sunlight on the steep western slope below the launch site. The resulting sometimes strong thermals can swirl the launch plateau. Quieter in the fall! From there follow the path up, it passes under the Schilthorn cable car, the piste after 50m down to the valley station of the Schiltgrat chair lift. After the ascent you follow the ski slope 50m downhill. The launch site is marked with a green paraglider board. Large, relatively flat and mechanically groomed starting point between the chairlift and the ski lift, next to the ski slope and next to the Schiltgrathäsi. The launch site is only open during the winter season. In the winter months you can count on Basejumper all day at Mürrenfluh! From Stechelberg or Lauterbrunnen to Muerren, then by cable car in the direction of Schilthorn. Get off at the intermediate station Birg and walk west on the ridge for about 10 minutes down to the saddle (above the reservoir). The launch site is a flat, short, stony meadow. Good to master with SW or thermal updrafts, otherwise very demanding, as the meadow then changes into a steep, stony scree. You can land in Stechelberg or Lauterbrunnen. Altitude 2600m
