There are two takeoffs: the most common one is the 'Oststartplatz' (east-TO) which is about 15 minutes walk from the 'Postl' car park. It is used for NE-SE winds, a clearing in the woods, so it may be turbulent if the wind comes over the trees (danger here!).The other takeoff is the 'Suedstart' used for SE-S winds, a cliff launch just a few 100 m south of the Postl-Restaurant. You should know what you are doing if you launch there.
From Gasthof Postl it is a 10-minute walk and you are rewarded with a wide meadow start flanked by forest.

The Hohe Wand is located about 30 minutes southwest of Vienna and is one of the most popular airfields in the region. Hang-gliders and paragliders will find the best take-off and landing conditions here. Guests receive a day flight entitlement at the Gasthof Postl. Observe airspace restrictions!
