Kuehboden Galfera

Take the cable car from Fiesch to the Fiescheralp (Kuehboden), then walk west to the launch site. The launch site is a huge, medium-steep meadow. Excellent cross-country flying area. 'Heimat': mostly used in the morning;46Â°24'52' (46.4146)N; 8Â°6'29' (8.10819)E - Elevation : 2137 m.'Galvera': used in the afternoon (shown on map) About a 10-15 minute walk west of the middle station, along the road, you will reach the second official launch site for GS, called Galfera. This convenient take-off area is also used for major flying events such as the World Championships. Ideally, in the 'hut' of the ski lift valley station (next to the take-off area), there is a toilet and water available all year round! Kuehboden Chalet (tandems only)

Biplace launch site and should not be used by solo pilots. Steep, short meadow. In the afternoon often strong updrafts. Beware of zero or downwind. A paradise for XC pilots in a fascinating landscape with a view of the 4000m mountains and glaciers. The view of the Finsteraarhorn is unique. In summer, the cross-country scene meets here to take advantage of the strong thermals for flights along the Rhone Valley. However, the Rhone valley also has its pitfalls. Often there is a strong valley wind of over 20 km/h. Even with a north wind it can get really turbulent. Best to consult the advice of the local pilots. Kühboden 2

Located directly below the vacation homes next to the mountain station. This launch site is mainly used for passenger flights and should therefore not be used by solo pilots. The man-made delta launch ramp is located directly below the mountain station. A paradise for XC pilots in a fascinating landscape with a view of the 4000m mountains and glaciers. Kuehboden Heimatt

Take the cable car from Fiesch to Kuehboden. The launch site is in the east, slightly below the mountain station. A moderately steep, hilly meadow. Excellent cross-country flying area. Good for taking off in the morning. Large, relatively flat starting area. A ramp was built for the deltas directly at the Kühboden middle station. In the course of 2019, the SP Aebnet will be moved slightly to the west and the terrain adapted.
