The landscape around the village of Reutte does not have as much to offer as the more idyllic villages of Tannheim, Pfronten and Füssen. But the flight conditions at the Hahnenkamm above Reutte are not to be despised. The departure tendency here is more towards the southeast and east. Correspondingly higher the thermal reaches here usually in contrast to the other areas. With the higher cloud base, however, one should prepare oneself at the same time for correspondingly higher climb values. The cross-country flight potential is significantly higher here. Take-off direction: W-SW The launch site is a relatively short, steep grassy slope, directly at the windsock at 1470 m, above the summit cross. Crosswinds can cause dangerous empty rotors!!! You should only launch from the front when the wind is perfect. From the other side of the slope you can rarely take off to the S-SE-E (flat meadow, but somewhat obstructed by trees).
