Take-off point right next to the mountain station in a westerly direction. Not quite easy west launch site located on the east side of the mountain station. The Zwölferkopf flying site is excellent for extended soaring flights. When the valley wind hits the mountain in the late afternoon, the paragliders cavort in the air. A large flat ski piste. After takeoff the pilot must turn 90 degrees to the right to fly down. Training starting point above the mountain station. In order to be able to start from the flat inclined meadow the wind must fit 100%. Free flyers should be briefed before their first flight. The Rofan (Gschöllkopf) is a flying site with a breathtaking view over Lake Achensee. The site is popular with test pilots, flying students and free flyers alike. The wind conditions are particularly special at Lake Achensee. Particular attention must be paid to the valley wind. The launch site is a few metres above the mountain station to the north. Every flight begins with an inspection of the landing site and in Achenkirch there are two of them: the winter landing site at Christlum and the summer landing site near the lake. Please only land on the official landing areas and not anywhere in the surrounding fields - even if they are mown! The Achenkirch Flying Club is happy to cooperate with the local farmers and does not want any trouble! A landing fee of Euro 5.00 should also be paid for the lease.
