Afternoon / evening start in Algodonales. In the summer thermals are quite (read dangerously) strong and beginners should avoid flying before 18:00. It is possible to fly even with a little bit crossed wind from the north, but no too much. in Gran Alacant behind the urbanisation 'olivo de oro' Ideally sloping starting point with information board. Fly only by east wind, maybe slightly north-east or south-east It is not allowed to go higher than 600 feet, and not too far north because of the airport. Before being able to fly on this site, you have to do a registration (10€) because the airport needs to give clearance. Taucho

Latitude 28.145295°, Longitude -16.736348°. Elevation 764 meters, launch direction SW. Very beautiful site and unforgettable flight towards the beach but it is not harmless to fly there in spite of the sun and the sea. Increase your safety margins with respect to other gliders and the terrain. Plan B or C to land safely and not in the cactus or on the big rocks. Indeed, we fly under the wind of Teide and often the wind at altitude (1000 m or more) comes from the north or northeast and yet it takes off thanks to the breeze. Take off only if ALL the upper windsocks and the lower flames are in the same direction! And only take off if there is a crowd, otherwise danger! The local tandem pilots can give you more information. Be careful with the preflight and the fine lines that can get stuck in the carpet. Large area with astroturf laid and easy gradient. The wind often comes onto this slope even when the high level winds are from the NE. The non-flyable symbol on this app is not therefore reliable. One of the most frequented sites on Teneriffa. Good access by car. Very large space on the mountain. No grass, carpets for takeoff. There are shuttle buses for €10 (ask for Karina) or take a cab for 4 from the beach (Caleta). 1- and 2-seater Altitude 768m

Ager 3

There are 4 takeoffs:lowest take off is RAUDORAL.Recently created, it allows take off without going all the way up to the top of the Montsec.Its a clean fairly steep takeoff that take a single paralider (while another prepares). It is faced South and is the first take off that comes the breeze while the slope is heated. BEWARE OF EAST WIND when we do not recommend use. Height to the Camping landing field: 500 m.GPS: 31T 312693, 4656422- GABRIELO.It is a take off with a spacious zone to put the hang gliders and paragliders. We take off only for one point, and we should look all the streamers, because it is a technical take off. It is South faced, and not suitable with West winds. It is a good take off when the North wind on the top of Montsec. Height to Ager: 550m.GPS: 31T 315102, 4655761MAIN TOP TAKE OFF COLL D'ARES.It is very big and clear take off. It has a few streamers to show the wind. It is South faced, but it allows to take off with West winds. If there is East wind, it is slightly in rotor. In an east it's better to continue to the Sant Alis take off. The height to Ager is 960 m. GPS: 31T 313555 , 4657599- SANT ALIS.It is geodesic vertex. It offers an incredible view: The Montseny, Moncayo, Guara mountain range, Pyrenees from Navarra to Girona, Montserrat, Monte Caro, Prades and Montsant mountain range. The take off is just on the left and in front of the firewatch cabin. It is South-East faced. Don't use with West winds. El Tanque

Launch site is accessible via a small path around the left side of the restaurant. The terrain is pretty rough and uneven. It's also very dusty, everything will be covered in a fine layer of red dust as a souvenier ;) but easy to clean off. Forward launch with no wind is possible but tricky, as the site is surrounded by cacti and other rough and scratchy vegetation and it's not always easy to clear it entirely during takeoff. The site is pretty flat, so it's difficult to gain height on the first meters. It helps to have a good wing control on the uneven terrain. Make sure to have the propper wind direction! Towards the left (NW) there is less vegetation and a steep cliff. With the propper wind this could make the take off easier. Haven't tried it. Beautiful flight over Los Silos, with incredible rock formations and a beautiful view over the coast line. Watch the regional wind! Otivar

Nice clear slope, with enough room for 2 gliders to launch at same time. Tricky top landing because of cables directly behind, but can be done if thermals are not kicking right over launch. GS start with wind vane. Please setup wings on either side of take off to keep the take off clear. Landing field is small and cannot be missed as the valley is full of power lines. Not a beginner landing site by any means. Inside the R111 zone. Paragliding and hangliding site 60km from Valencia. SE winds are the best, but also possible with ENE and S. Airspace starts at 1200m and commercial aircraft use the airspace for approaches to Valencia airport. From beginning of November to end of February, is FORBIDDEN to fly on Thursdays, weekends and holidays due to the hunting season. Large and easy for all kind of pilotsOrientation from SW to NW For both GS and HG. Top landing no problem. From the road where you can leave the car, less than a 5-minute ascent. Oct 2015: Apparently you should have a permit to use the road to the SP, otherwise you could face a (steep) fine... The wind starts at about 10h30-11h in spring. It is better to avoid flying between 14h and 17h-18h, sometimes later because the wind and thermiques are really strong. See the informations on the landing site. Beside chiringuito Bananas near Camping Matalascanas. Take off from the hill of shoreline, about 15 meters of height and flying to W, NOT to E because there hare many building and many people on the beach. Flying to West you have 15 km to Mazagon town to fly over the shoreline if the wind have 15 to 30 km/h from SW. All shoreline from MatalascaÃ±as to Mazagon is protected for wildlife. The NW takeoff is very large and located at the very top of the hill. No serious hazards apart from the masts behind. Ridge to the right of takeoff is apparently a good thermal trigger.The Southerly takeoff is has been manicured for paragliding but does require very committed launch. People tended to head straight to the huge rock face to the right of takeoff. Never flown easterly, very intimidating launch. Only enough room for one glider and maybe four or five steps. El Bosque 2

Great place to fly during the all day when possible, but evening is special because the entire valley is "working" till the sunset. Hours and hours of thermaling and some soaring enjoying. Park at the end and hike some 10-15 min untill the takeoff. In case of not too crossed wind, it is also possible to take off with good skills and have a great flight. If it is crossed from the North and decide to takeoff, be on standby if glider goes on the other side of takeoff. Launch site over the plantations of Carchuna. The upper launch site belongs to the Parapente Tropical flying school, the contact person is Antonio Castro. The lower launch site is free. Access is from Motril, turn left beforehand and go through the plantation to the start.
