The 'HighSide' this is the main site for recreational paragliding at Karioitahi Beach and the most popular site in Auckland due to the ease of launch and safe flying environment. Also known as 'The Main Cliff' or 'The Waterfall', 300 m north of the access road currently via cliff side walking track.
80m altitude above the beach, beautiful smooth grassy slope to launch from, top-landing possible. It's possible to fly 30km of cliff up to the mouth of the Manukau harbour and back.

Park at the beach car-park and walk up north along the beach approx 300m. Cross a little stream and a waterfall. About 50m after take the hiking path up the dunes. Takes about 20 minutes to the top, 102 meters altitude. Ropes are installed to assist with climbing the cliffs / dunes. Once at the top, walk approx. 500m along the top of the cliff until reaching a big grassy area.
