Takeoff is a small sandy patch on the edge of a fairly high (dutch standards) dune, next to the KNVvL information Board. (see picture)
Launch site next to the path on the top of the dune. Since the launch site is relatively high up, it is susceptible to wind.
Zoutelande has been a popular place for hang gliders and paragliders for years. Zoutelande has the highest dunes in the Netherlands (about 30 to 45 metres). You can fly for miles along the dunes. In Zoutelande, the municipality of Veere, the water board of Zeelandic Islands and KNVvL have created an official flying point.
Flying periods:
- 1 September to 14 June
- 15 June to 31 August, after 18.00 hrs until sunset
Maximum wind force: glider pilots: 25 km/h
Maximum number of planes: Para and hang gliders together max. 15
Valid rules:
- Basic safety regulations for gliding and regulations for paragliding
- Last edition of the manual Gliding and Paragliding
- The glider pilot and/or glider pilot must have at least the KNVvL Brevet 2 or equivalent by the KNVvL recognized (ICAO) aviation license.

At the Valkanisse and Meerpal campsites, staircases lead to the top of the dunes. Along the top of the dunes, a path leads to the launch site in the area of the staircase of the Meerpal campsite.
