Mozambique Paragliding Sites

About 970 feet ASL facing East. Safi Ranch is close to Sarangani Bay, giving a combination of sea breeze and thermal wind condition. There is no longer a north takeoff here. This takeoff is south to east. By mid morning the wind usually moves to the east and strengthens, when the more popular east launch site becomes flyable. By midday/early afternoon the wind often strengthens further and moves to southeast-south and the site is blown out. Pilots not under formal instruction must be certified. A concrete road has recently been completed from the highway to the takeoff and landing sites. Easily driven using a regular 4x2 car. Dune overlooking the sea Scuba divers will take to the skies at this site, which is a popular scuba diving destination in Morongulu. To reach the site, walk south along the beach from the Morongulu scuba diving area for about 10 minutes until you reach a low dune on the right side, above a rocky beach. If conditions are favorable with wind blowing straight onto the dune, climb to the top, launch your glider, and soar above the sea where you recently had an amazing scuba diving experience.
