Leave the A8 at La Turbie, and follow the signs for the Monte Carlo golf club. Turn right at the Monte-Carlo radio antennae. Parking is limited (10 places) and hitching back up for a vehicle difficult. It makes sense to use the navette (euro1), which leaves from the car park opposite the train station (close to the landing area) between 10am and 4pm (10am, 11.15, 14.00 15.15 - only Oct-April).
Carpet SP with windsock on pole and many wind bands.
From the shuttle stop, hike ~300m slightly uphill.
Behavior at the wonderful SP ---> see club info 🇫🇷
Monaco is located at the southern end of the Alpine arc and is well worth a visit. This is where the rich and famous meet and, especially in winter, paragliders. Outside the summer months, you can land on the beach at Roquebrune. The view over the Principality and the Cote d'Azur is superb - and the flying is also princely.
There are plenty of updrafts and thermals early on. Some conditions must be observed (the beach is not always accessible, flying over antennas / military installations and over the urban area of Monte Carlo is prohibited). Take-off direction south / southwest / southeast. The main take-off area is spacious (mats). The emergency landing facilities are poor. The landing area at Roquebrune on the beach is difficult to approach (narrow but long). Beware of offshore winds. Be sure to check beforehand. Very busy at weekends. Great: A shuttle runs from the railroad bridge opposite the landing site to the launch site for little money. Club info: http://www.roquebrunailes.com/

The Commune entrusts the association, which accepts it, with the management of the site defined by the present agreement and within the limits set by the provisions of decree no. 817/2010 of 20/09/2010 regulating the Mont Gros take-off site in Roquebrune Cap Martin.
From April 1 to October 31 inclusive, hang-gliders are prohibited from taking off from the Mont-Gros site and landing on the Golfe Bleu beach, due to the development of the concession for lot no. 6 as part of the public service delegation for natural beaches, and the location of the compulsory summer surveillance post used by the Centre Départemental d'incendie et de Secours, which may represent a risk for pilots.
