There are two takeoffs: the most common one is the 'Oststartplatz' (east-TO) which is about 15 minutes walk from the 'Postl' car park. It is used for NE-SE winds, a clearing in the woods, so it may be turbulent if the wind comes over the trees (danger here!).The other takeoff is the 'Suedstart' used for SE-S winds, a cliff launch just a few 100 m south of the Postl-Restaurant. You should know what you are doing if you launch there.
Vom Gasthof Postl aus ist man in 10min zu Fuß unterwegs und wird mit einem von Wald flankierten breiten Wiesenstart belohnt.
Achtung bei stärkeren S-Wind: Rotoren
Wiesenstartplatz in breiter Waldschneise. Hauptstartplatz für Gleitschirme.
Die Hohe Wand liegt etwa 30 Minuten südwestlich von Wien und zählt zu einem der beliebtesten Fluggelände der Region. Drachen- und Gleitschirmflieger finden hier beste Start- und Landebedingungen. Gäste erhalten im Gasthof Postl eine Tagesflugberechtigung. Luftraumbeschränkungen beachten!
