Paragliding in Jugra is conducted off the base of Bukit Jugra lighthouse, a towering structure built in 1976 that rises 146 meters above sea level.
Paragliding depends heavily on wind conditions, with March to September being the best time to soar through the air in Malaysia.
Paragliding in Jugra: Each session lasts for about 20 minutes and you’ll be flying tandem with an instructor.
Exercise caution when encountering strong winds blowing from the south or south-southeast, as there is a possibility of rotor turbulence emanating from the small hill located ahead on the left side. During such conditions, it is advisable to maintain flight over the launch and ridge area, avoiding flying towards the front left of the launch unless at a considerable altitude above the launch point.
Similarly, exercise caution when attempting to land in strong east winds, as it can be challenging to maintain sufficient forward momentum for a smooth landing. Expect turbulence caused by strong thermals during the landing process. It is recommended to avoid excessive braking during the approach to landing.
